I am not a professional politician I am a professional problem solver. I have spent most of my professional life working to solve business problems with technology or process improvements, or both. I have worked as a Software Entrepreneur, Business Analyst, and Project Manager.
I have also worked as a Nurse and Real Estate Broker which means I have extensive experience in analyzing complex problems in both the Real Estate and Healthcare industries. I have worked, on a one-on-one basis, to protect what people value most their health and their homes.
Let’s face it, people’s homes are the most expensive purchase most will ever make. I believe that the County Commissioners owe it to the residents to protect home values by not overbuilding in the county and degrading the quality of life all have moved here to enjoy. Having grown up with parents in Real Estate, and then becoming a licensed Real Estate Broker in two separate states Colorado and California I know firsthand how poor zoning, underfunded schools, and traffic congestion can negatively impact home values.
As a mother, wife, and nurse, I have been the healthcare coach and coordinator for my family. As a licensed nurse, I have worked in hospitals, nursing homes, and mental health facilities. Perhaps most importantly, as a business systems analyst who has worked in healthcare claims processing, I intimately understand the problems with our healthcare system. Because the County Commissioner's office has responsibility for overseeing the state’s administration for Medicaid, as well as other child and adult protective services, I have the background to take on the health and human services challenges our growing county creates.
Healthcare, real estate and technology are key responsibilites for a Douglas County Commissioner. I believe that I have the personal and professional experience to be the best Commissioner candidate worthy of your vote.
